Bala is an ST3 in general surgery, currently out of programme for research in Newcastle. His interests are in HPB & Liver Transplantation. He joined the Herrick Society to get to know other like-minded trainees and continue the work done by previous committees in improving access to transplantations for trainees. He had a variety of experience in leading undergraduate societies and organising postgraduate training events, having held the role of treasurer, secretary, and education representative in the past. He works to improve the profile of transplant surgery amongst undergraduates through events organised by the team. With the advent of a new general surgical curriculum, the Herrick Society will be essential in advocating for trainees. He is eager to be a part of this journey.
