Emily is an NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Transplant Surgery based in Newcastle. Her PhD research investigates the delivery of novel therapeutics during normothermic machine perfusion to recondition marginal kidneys prior to transplantation. Her research in this field has been awarded the British Transplant Society’s Medawar Medal and the Surgical Research Society’s Patey Prize. She was the first recipient of the ESOT Leonardo Da Vinci Award for Research & Innovation at the 2019 congress in Copenhagen. She has been the Herrick Society research representative for the past two years and is keen to deliver collaborative trainee-led studies investigating the challenges facing transplantation.
